Call history and recordings

Find a call. Listen to what was said.

Business call recording is useful when you need to check a conversation, follow up an enquiry or review how a call was handled. Access and retention deserve as much attention as the record button.

  • Call history beside the recording
  • Playback in your browser
  • Access and retention controls

Keep the call and its recording together.

Search call activity by number, person or date. When a recording is available, open it beside the call details and play it in the browser. A call record may exist without a recording, so the interface needs to make that distinction clear.

Keep the call details and playback together so you can check a conversation without searching through downloaded audio files. If a call has no recording, its history still helps you see who called and whether someone answered.

Choose who needs access.

Give recording access only to people who need it for their work. Decide who may listen, download a copy or handle a request about a recording. A shared business account should not mean everyone can listen to every conversation.

Make caller information and staff instructions part of setup. Recording notices, lawful use and any sector-specific obligations depend on your business and should be reviewed before recording live calls.

Agree how long recordings should be kept.

Choose a retention period that fits the reason for recording. Check how that policy applies to the active recording store, downloaded files and backups. A deletion in one place should not be assumed to erase every other copy.

Confirm the retention and backup arrangements for your account during onboarding. The public demo uses sample data and does not establish your live recording policy.

A short acceptance checklist.

  • Place an agreed test call and check the correct conversation is recorded.
  • Find it using the call details and play the audio from start to finish.
  • Check that a user without recording access cannot retrieve it.
  • Confirm the caller notice, retention period and download policy.
  • Check what happens when a recording has expired or is unavailable.

Common questions.

Does every call have a recording?
No. Recording depends on the route and account configuration. A call can appear in history without recorded audio.
Can I listen without downloading the file?
Yes. Where a recording is available and you have permission, the portal supports browser playback.
